Julian CasablancasI wasn't originally going to make a journal about this, but it's been three weeks and I figure I should probably post at least something.Last Friday I saw Julian Casablancas, lead singer of the Strokes, perform in Boston. Hot damn, it was a good show. Arguably one of the best shows I've seen live. The man has some killer stage presence, that's for sure. I'm pretty sure I almost swooned. I actually hadn't heard much of his solo album prior to going to the show, but I don't think I would have liked it as much if I hadn't seen him live. It's a little synthesized for my taste, but as it turns out I can't stop listening to it. Casablanca's voice is fucking awesome. So yeah, I was literally right up in front of the stage. Front row if you will. It was a small venue, but it made it awesome. I managed to talk a little with his younger brother and one of the other band members after the show, too. The opening act was called Tan Lines and their songs were about as bad as their name. Julian made fun of them a bit when he got on, too, which was pretty funny. If you feel like checking him out, I highly recommend Glass or if you would prefer something a bit more upbeat Out of the Blue Anyways, that's about the only interesting thing I've been up to lately. Otherwise just working and trying to get some real world shit together, for example I figured a resume might be helpful. LINKED MEDIA
