My foot is looking for a place to stay, and your ass just hung a vacancy sign.

I'm a junior at The Khabele School in Austin, Texas. It's pretty relaxed. I also make movies. Some good, some bad. But all fun.

Red vs. Blue... what now?

After watching tonight's episode, I really am afraid that RvB has jumped the shark... I mean, falling from a sky scraper onto a Warthog, and into a diving Pelican? Tex jumping out of the Pelican later on? I'm sorry- but that's not epic, that's just stupid. What the hell ever happened to Red vs Blue?

I don't think I've laughed that hard at a GIF in a long time.

Holy shit, that's epic. All my friends have CS5 illegally on their home comps(we have it all at school) but I can't figure out a majority of it for the life of me. All I know is some Dreamweaver and some Photoshop -w-

Yeah, you'll most likely become my Visual FX Guy and Editor

Currently I'm only looking for Peer Editors just to help me refine my writing, but I'm definitely going to keep you in mind, I have mediocre visual FX at best and I'm not the best at FX or Editing.

Thanks fro the reply. I get governmental assistance. Enough to get by.
Lol, if you know how to get a job in the film industry, I would love to know, I've been trying for 3 years :P.
My education kinda left me in the cold, they didn't tell me what to do or where to look. So I've been trying to get a job anywhere. I don't think I am just ready to go fulltime as a freelance filmmaker just yet, right now I need a job. One day I would like to have a production group and make money thru dvd or online means.

Anyway, the best way to make money in film is Wedding Videos. I would suggest getting your own camera kit as well, which is what I'm about to do.

Thanks!

I'm flattered, I really am. I hate to disappoint you, but I have only been paid for filmmaking once for a PSA. Most of us are volunteers at the station. I get paid in experience, knowledge and exposure, which is a nice start. And a nice resume. However, the higher ups call it work and it certainly feel like it.
No, no, no, not luck at all. I studied film at an art school - kinda of like a film school but I also got to learn ceramics.
I can give you some advice to get to my stage. Patience, persistence, hard work, & faith. I had to make friends and get 'in' with the station. I didn't get my show on television for sitting around waiting for a phone call back. I went up to them every week and asked them about the show's progress. There is no such thing as pestering in this business. Have faith in yourself, you can do it. If you don't believe in yourself, nothing happens.
But most of all, make films! Make as many as you can, as much as you can! It improves your skills and gives you a library of content to use.
Keep me posted on your progress. We are on the same journey, hope we can help each other.

Friendly Neighborhood RvB:TX Admin here! Just a few updates on the group today:
1) We officially have 200 members! Sweet! You Guys Rock!

2) We'd really appreciate it if everyone watches the group and checks the forum every few weeks or so. We post polls and messages on the group and we need YOUR input to make sure that this RvB:TX will be the best yet . If you already watch the group, thanks a ton! If not, go here and click the watch button. There are also polls concerning likelihood of attendance and optimum ticket price in the group forum.

3) The event is being tentatively scheduled for next March. Hope to see you there!

4) We could really use the help of a Web Designer. if you or someone you know could help us get even a bare bones site running, it would be greatly appreciated. However, please note that this will be an act of volunteerism on your part. We'd love to pay you, but we just don't have the money. But isn't being able to say that you designed a site in order to celebrate the greatest Machinima series ever reward enough? If you are still interested, please contact myself, or one of the other group admins.

5) Keep active in the group. The planning staff is constantly looking for cool ideas for events, and they are the best spot to get yours out there.

That's all folks! Keep your eyes glued to the screen for further updates.
