It's the good and the bad, ya know?
So, for anyone’s who read a few past journals, you’ll probably have picked up on the fact that my job is, well, it isn’t the best. Yeah I’m employed and all, but, man, do they make it tough. Just this week it was announced that from this week on, Contractors may not ever eat any food or drink any beverages that were at any time intended for the “real employees.” Might not seem like much, I know, but trust me, the occasional free food left over from real employees meetings was always a nice little pick me up. So we don’t get free food anymore, ok. Then the next thing was announced. One of the free food items was that once a month, they would celebrate all that month’s birthdays on one day, and throughout the month there was a large sign/flier up announcing that month’s birthdays. Contractors are hence forth banned from having their birthdays appear on the birthday list and we may not celebrate our birthdays publicly. Not by joining in the once a month party, or by even brining in our own cake. Also, we are now no longer allowed to fraternize with “real” employees at work, or outside of work. So, cute girl in the cafeteria I’ve glanced wistfully at is now officially off the table. That’s ok though, because Caboose gets to come out to play this weekend! I’m taking my armor to a decently “large” anime convention here in Ohio. (Having been to Dragon*Con, my standards for convention size if a bit skewed, so what is large to others is a bit on the small side for me.) The con’s name is a play on words, us being in Ohio and the Con being called Ohayo*Con, Ohayo being Japanese for “Good Morning” and pronounced the same as the state. Of course, through the mind set of Caboose, I can only see the name of then con as “Oh, yeah, yo-yos!” And fully intended to wander around asking people where the yo-yos are. |
