...sort of.

So last weekend I started playing Minecraft. I started out with a treehouse, which got exploded by a creeper, so I deleted that "world" and started again, this time I put a hatch over the ladder and it worked out pretty well from there on in.

I extended my treehouse down to ground level, dug a mine inside so it didn't matter if it got dark while I was mining, collected some seeds and sugar cane, lured some animals and started a farm:




As you can see I've also been collecting/making dyes, so I now have every coloured sheep except for brown, since I don't have any cocoa beans. I was disappointed when I found out you can only get those from dungeons, I wanted to bake cookies.

Then I had the bright idea of collecting lava from a pit I'd found and pouring it into a mould made of dirt and cooling it to make an obsidian house -- I'd seen it done to make a nether portal, but I figured I could do it to build an obsidian house.
I only had enough lava for the first half-a-floor but that's all I needed to make something relatively Creeper-proof and I continued building from there with stone:



That should have been "side entrance", I'll have to change that.

I made my first floor double-thick so I could have carpets and have a bathroom without the water leaking down onto the floor below.

So... that's why I haven't been on much this week, but on the plus side I think my creative block has cleared up. I think I'll stop for a while and get on with my to-do list. Still, it's a fun game, I can certainly see how people get drawn in.
