What? How can you get through high school without rudimentary trig?
Well, as I said, we learn some trig in pre-calc. My high school math classes have been (and will be, in the case of calculus): Geometry, Algebra 2, Pre-Calc, Calculus. Trigonometry is something you can elect to take instead of Calculus.
Which is why I loathe politics with a passion, being a scientist by trade. I prefer the pursuit of truth, rather than arriving at a conclusion that you'd like to be true and then trying to con the general public into believing you. Politics has a special way of making everything ridiculously oversimplified, with the bad guys over here who are OMG 100% WRONG BAD BAD BAD and the good guys over here who are YAY PERFECT WE HAVE ALL THE ANSWERS VOTE FOR US, not to mention the way in which it actively works against teamwork and cooperation.
Yes, it can be frustrating in the real world.
But I can't tell you how much fun it was to actually get to do it. =P
