It isn't likely, no. I'm applying for a few different engineering jobs, but it'll be more of a supervisory / project management type role. But that's fine, it's what my degree was for. I'm excited either way.
Yep, I'm familiar with the Mother Mosque. I think the original building isn't much to look at but it's kind of amazing to think there wasn't a mosque built in the US until the mid-30's. And in Cedar Rapids, of all places. It's a cereal town. Quaker Oats and several other manufacturers all have factories there.
I'm trying to tent camp this weekend, but it's definitely a last hurrah
I gave up tent camping (even at Disney - where you have electricity and running water at all the sites) YEARS ago. My husband and I backpack/back country camped in the White Mountains, and along the Appalachian Trail many, many years ago..... NOW my idea of 'roughing' it is a 5 star hotel - or actually better - a private home / cottage / cabin in a great location! [What can I say - if I have to work like a dog - I'm going to enjoy my luxuries!] Good luck with your weekend slog!
Thanks for the journal comment. We came back home yesterday. Still not quite adjusted to the time change yet. I still have a lot of catching up to do on this site. So, if you haven't heard from me....it doesn't mean that I don't care......I just haven't found time to care. LOL Well hopefully you know what I mean.
Not much choice re the driving with dilated eyes - appointment was in downtown Orlando after work - home is 22 miles away.... I drove through downtown traffic, the 'expressway' and the a toll 'beltway' on the way home - good thing I didn't get pulled over (I've never for anything but a burned out brake bulb once)....!
I hope your folks can get some relief - that their A/C system is 'fixable' for a reasonable cost.... perhaps a simple loss of coolant? In our case it was a bad capacitor....
I'm well over $1000. now - no WAY I'd throw it away or burn it!!! But I do have 'moments' when I have to leave it sit for a while - if I can't find pleasure in the process of creation - than the hobby is not serving it's purpose. For the most part I am enjoying it. I sincerely hope I can live up to my 'vision'!
He achieved the diploma from his high school - not a GED and not a summer school diploma - so I accept that. He could have done so much more (he has plenty of potential - just no motivation) - but one day he will realize all this for himself - in the mean time - I love him just the way he is - and I keep on pushing - such are mothers!
