A heroic finish
Just finished Halo: Reach on Heroic in co-op mode with Nate. Playing it with a 6-year old while the 8 and 4-year olds call out directions in the background is so throroughly amusing. Lots and lots of smiles. Definitely the best game on TV today. Superbowl is on now. Think I'll take a nap while Lex watches Princess Tutu or whatever this awful anime show is. Terms learned today: IV lines, defile drills, cover fire, shift fire left/right, reloading, etc. Oh, and first home video game use of "I'm up, he sees me, I'm down", and, "Get a grenade in that dead space!" Oh, and the awkward moment: Hey, why did they fly away without me? How do I get out of here? Dad: You don't. Someone has to stay to cover the withdrawal. That's you. Nate: So, I die? Dad: No, you keep fighting. Nate: But everyone else gets away? Dad: That's right. You saved them all. Nate: Oh. Cool. |
