Production Blog #3...
....Thought I forgot about you guys? ..Well I kind of did. . . . . . . . KIDDING The wife and I have been hard at work with the whole production side of life. We've put a bit of a pause on the Portal gun. We're going to finish it soon. We just wanted to complete something that I've been talking about for years. A green Screen! Now our first attempt was A for effort but C+ in execution because we all know that's where it counts (That's what my wife says anyways.....  ) We bought this very cheap green table cloth at a novelty party store for 20$ it was the right color and it came in a roll of 100 feet. Once we found the space in our house we started laying some Horizontal layers with the materiel. After about 3-4 layers and some packing tape we slapped that sucker on the wall and was very disappointed. We could still through the cover and somehow with light shining on it made the green much more.....yellow.So deciding not to be some cheap asshole we went to a fabric store and purchased some brightish green polyester like cloth which rang us about 40$-50$ Canadian in total. This was much easier to work with. We simply grabbed some flat thumbnails and pierced that bitch into place. It was long enough to do it Vertically and still have some left over cloth for optional use. We did a few test shots with our pets to see how it would look like if we could key out the screen in our software of choice and SUCCESS! So one Cheap DIY Green Screen complete! Next production Blog I'll talk about the type of lights I purchased. That one might even be a vlog, who knows?  |
