Back to basics.
So, today I'm without electricity. The power in my room, but only my room,is gone after I tried to 'Gourmet' which basically means you all sit around a big hot plate and grill meat on it. I live in a big apartment with about 100 other students, and only 2 of them have the keys that enable them to turn on the power, and both are gone...

So, now I'm sitting here on my bed, only lighted by my laptop, typing this journal which I borrowed from my friendly, yet unknowing neighbour...

Name: Thomas Adams
Appearance: (Unimaginative, I know)

History: Born on Earth to a single mother. Never formally met father. History of youth unknown, presumably acquired a tattoo of the letters SPQR on arm, along with the Roman Numerals XVI, all standing over a roaring lion. Shortly after turning 18, enlisted in the army where he excelled in unarmed combat and group tactics. Several incidents in training halted a chance to prove himself on the battlefield, at which point he was sent to WMB along with certain classified reports.
Personality: Intensely loyal to Officers and comrades. Strong fighter with mind naturally adept at adapting strategies.
Inventory: Golden Coin, termed as his "lucky" coin. A pack of rations labelled dangerous and covered in black tape. Adams guards pack closely. Several carved figurines. Old, but well kept Pugio. Cleaning kit and whetstone. Assorted souveinrs from earth.

Report: Troops operating in simulation against Covenant forces. Pvt Adams takes point, directing other trainees to attack lower ranking elite while he tackles the Major. Fights well, using his smaller size to his advantage. Eventually he runs out of ammo. A grenade blast throws up dust obscuring camera as Pvt Adams pulls out a gold coin and throws his combat knife at the elite. Thermal imaging shows him tossing the coin. Smoke clears and Adams is now holding a golden lance. The Elite dodges the thrown knife, only for Adams to charge with the lance. A fierce battle ensues, as Adams tries to overwhelm the elite with the lance. In minutes the elite forces him back, at which point he trips over a Minor's "corpse". He falls back, as the major dives after him. Adams swings the lance up and into the chest of the Major, skewering it. The lance then appears to disappear as Pvt Adams puts the coin back in his pocket.

Report: Troops operating in live fire exercise, Group Alpha hunting Group Bravo in Jungle simulation. Pvt Adams cornered by three members of Group Alpha. Security cameras show Pvt Adams cutting his hand while murmuring. He then holds his hands to the sky, at which point a bolt of lightning comes down, striking the members of Group Alpha. They survive, but with severe burns. Seconds after the strike of the bolt, Adams falls to the ground, eyes open, but unable to move. Subject required 2 days rest and several more days rations to fully recover.

Long story short, the Greek Gods are still around, having kids with mortals. These kids become "heros"/demigods (being children of both mortal and god). Basically what I would want to do is see if I could run off an idea like that. Just to ease concerns, the demigod children do get powers, but they're... well not entirely useful. I mean the child of zeus (aka the son of the strongest of the olympian gods) is exhausted after calling down a whopping two lightning bolts. So you get minor powers, a natural predisposition to be good at fighting, but you're also more susceptible to weapons that mortals aren't. (Celestial Bronze/Imperial Gold forged weapons can harm monsters and demigods, but actually passes right through mortals with no problem). Of course, i wouldn't rip off the series idea entirely, but i'd like to make a character in the same vein as the series.
