There are some who call me... Tim?
What is your name? What is your quest? What is the capital of Assyria?

I'm a Sci-Fi guy who likes his gadgets and loves automobiles. I am up to meeting new people so drop me a line.

iHere, iTim, iMac

Greetings and salutations. I'll save the usual "Geez guys I haven't posted anything in a while."....... 'cause you know that already.

So what DON'T you know? Well, finishing up some home improvement stuff. Don't get me wrong.....I'm not the one doing the improvement work. We want it done correctly so we pay someone. Due to the water damage we had in the winter (via ice damming) we had to replace the flooring in two of the guest bedrooms.

We decided to replace the carpeting and put in wood flooring (as 80% of the house was already that way.) Well, we thought it would be odd to have two out of the three guest rooms have wood....so we opted to get the third down as well. And...as the flow of money happens.....one you start.....might as well keep going. So, might was well do our MBR and closets. That's were it is now.....three guest rooms finished and MBR is about 90% done.

We've been living out of a guest bedroom....boy, does it make you appreciate the larger MBR.

So besides home improvements what else is new?....well, if you followed me on FaceBook you would know everything. LOL

I finally agreed to replace my aging Apple PowerMac PowerPC Dual G5 tower with a new machine. An Apple iMac 27" CORE i7 with a SSD bootdrive and a 1TB secondary drive. This is the FASTEST machine I've ever used. I credit that to the SSD as well as the CORE i7. I had a teeny weeny 20" monitor and now this 27" looks enormous.

Well, with the extra storage and faster processing I've been able to import some photos/videos that have been waiting for quite a bit. So, here are two trailers I whipped up.

As far as your unused vacation days.....besides the one you'll need to take off buying my Christmas presents...take Fri,Sat &Sun to visit me. CT is close to NYC and who doesn't want to see New York all lit up for the holidays?

While I would definitely love, love, to do that, my funds are exceptionally low all of a sudden thanks to my car, student loans, and other sporadic spending. I'm under $400 until Wednesday when I'll be back over $1,000. If I can get that other job next year where I'll be making $45 K, a pretty good amount in Nebraska especially considering my situation (only having myself to worry about), I can do fun things.

I'm easy to shop for. I'll PM my shipping Adress to you.

As far as a razor goes....Phillips Body Groom, cause I know you need it.

Heck yeah...It's starting to get cold. I'm trying to grow as much hair as possible to stay warm.

EDIT: I originally had the quotes as spoilers...

Hmm...That's a fair point...A point definitely in favor of "new job" because my buddy is able to work from home when he absolutely needs to. Sometimes, it's even required of him. Of course, the new job would also require a huge increase in difficulty. The current I could literally do in my sleep and could have done it since I was like fifteen. The increase in difficult would be just about infinite from what I know he does while the increase in pay would only be double.

I know at their heart, none of them would fault me for taking a job that offers twice as much money because like I said, very few people would even contemplate it in the first place. I would feel bad even bringing it up though because my boss even asked me in my interview how long I thought I would be here. She seemed to think I was a flight risk. Not in the, "I'm just going to stop showing up" type of way, but exactly in the type of way I would be leaving. She and I both knew that I was overqualified for the job. The only thing I lacked was any actual job experience apart from working at a baseball stadium. I assured her I'm someone who gets comfortable easily and was just looking for a job to help pay for things at the moment. So, I would feel bad since it could be seen as me "lying."

Either way, I have some time to figure it out. Even my "worst case scenario" isn't horrible. If I would get the internship and then get fired after the six months, I would still make $20+ K in those six months. So, I would still make in six months what I would make in a year now. So, I would theoretically have a six month cushion to work with.

Yeah, I figured it would be obvious.

I never saw that. This is actually the first HBO show I have watched. I don't have HBO. I just watched it at a friends' house. I plan on reading the books though. I'm told they're awesome.

Holy crap...I'm actually well aware of him. The Indians were said to be in on him for a while. That's actually pretty cool. I of course have to hope he fails for the first six seasons of his career or so since he'll be playing for Boston. After that, I hope he does well...Unless he goes to the Yankees...

Haha, done and done...I also find it amusing you were reading my journal as I was reading yours. Are you spying on me?

In reply to Raptor_Alpha, #7:
There is a watch battery replacement booth at the closest mall to me....$2 to change the batter plus the cost of the battery. We save up our watches.....and drop them off in one shot. Some of them have crazy tools required for opening them....I would welcome tiny screws but none of ours are that way. A few Fossil watches of mine have three batteries (of course....different sizes each) that need to be changed.

|That's a really good deal, definitely would have been worth it in my case.
