Well I am a avid gamer and a passionate artist in both traditional media and digital. I enjoy writing and developing my own characters. I enjoy watching videos such as RvB and reading web comics such as Kevin and Kell.

I love art and hanging out with others from my generation of the 80s to now.

HURRA I GOT SOME AWARDS!

Yeah I usually don't know what to say on the RVB journals. So I thought I woud ladd this on.

Finally got myself some cool Awards XD. HURRAY!

I thought I would start up a little game review part on my journal. because...why not?
I've started playing the latest Dragon Ball Z title: DragonBall Z: Ultimate Tenkiichi. I have no idea what the hell Tenkiichi even means? Apparently they rather have a game with a big ass word no body in the states knows (except maybe those who are fluent in Japanese). Don't know why they can't just go with the number system like the rest of the games out there. I mean you get more hype for a game with numbers, I mean look at HALO 3.

In terms of a fighting game, it's not all that bad but it does have some problems that will annoy anyone whose never played a fighter game before.
The good side to the game is the ability to create a custom character, rather than playing the pre existing fighters. You can design him based on the style of the DBZ world and custom fit his abilities. So if you're a fan of creating a giant ball that blows up planets, that's for you. If you like rushing into a massive combo chain with your fists, they have that too.
The combat and cinematics of the fighting are pretty cool. It's fun to watch as you power slam a player into the ground or even fire an energy blast that leaves a massive hole in the ground and the surrounding mountains. Or even a super blast so powerful it shots off into outer F*#$ink space.

The real down side is that the combat is based on a 50/50 chance. So if you get locked in an epic moment where you have to play Rock, paper, siccors with someone chances are you either win it or lose it. Though, it's not really all that bad of a choice, but it does become a pain when your only way of recovering involves you breaking your thumb bone as you slam down on the 4 buttons on the controller. Even then, it's a chance you won't break free to recover.
the other problem lies in defending yourself against the super energy blasts. The game involves you "Powering Up" your defenses to either Block, Evade, or Attack Back. If you don't have that energy bar filled up, you just have to sit there and take the energy blast that will take either 50% or 75% of your total health. But even if you have the power to defend the acts are treated as a mini game. When you Attack Back, you have to rapidly press a button faster than the opponent. This becomes a major problem when Lag is a major player. EVADE has you doing a GUITAR HERO style button press, where you hit the button at the right point in order to defend. If you miss even one key, you're out. Blocking is just that, it just does half the damage.

In summary, DBZ is okay when it comes to playing with friends or people who just wanna watch stuff blow up on epic scale. But it is not something you can take online and play with others. The online gameplay is a small handful, it seems like they didn't bother to make a commercial market for the game. I guess it could be do to to all the previous DBZ games in the past that just sucked? I don't know...seriously, I don't bloody know.
But even if you find someone to play online, chances are they will spam like a web troller. Giving you less chance to fight back. Basically, making you their Dragon Ball bitch. You may find someone who fights fairly and just has fun, but it's rare.

Though it's nice to see a fresh take on the DBZ fighter game, from player customization to a new fresh look on the combat. The game can turn one sided very quickly.

My Personal Rating is a 3.5 / 5
