Earthquake
It's pretty scary that Japan was hit by an 8.8 earthquake recently and experienced a powerful tsunami that followed up. I was glad to hear that my family in Japan was ok, they live in the Nagano region and didn't feel the full force of the quake, but my uncle did end up getting home after six hours since he was in Tokyo and they had shut down many highways. My thoughts go out to any other families that are less fortunate in this situation.
