Weekend fun.
Well, I just spent my entire weekend cleaning up the mess that was my basement. Seems sometime early Friday in the A.M. my sump pump died. About 1:45 P.M. my kid came home and was the first person to go down to the basement that day. Only to find several inches of water. Needless to say everything I had stored in cardboard boxes was wet beyond belief. Furniture made from particle board is not worth a shit after an ordeal like that. Lucky for me my huge ass tower stands high enough off the floor that water did not get to anything important inside it. All in all I've spent over $500 for the new pump, a big shop vac and a ton of plastic totes to store things in. Last but not least a alarm for the sump pump hole. If the water gets higher then 6 inches deep the alarm sounds and I pray to God someone in my house hears that damn thing. $200 for a pump is one thing. A day off work and throwing away half my stuff freaking sucks.
