You kick ass just for checking them out. Yeah they're a bit of a departure from traditional music, but I've slowly gotten hooked to them. There's other bands like that with similar styles too, like Sigur Ros or Explosions in the Sky, if you do end up liking it and want to hear more like it.

Yeah stuff like Black Sails and Art of Drowning is what got me into them in the first place. I had heard earlier stuff on Nitro comps and stuff, but it never grabbed me. Not that it wasn't good, just didn't think it was great. Those two later cds were really well done though, then once I heard StS I was blown away by their progression.

As for the euro dance thing, I heard they actually had a side project in the works at one point. I think it was mainly gonna be Havok and Puget, and it was supposed to be less instruments and more digital synth, dark electro type stuff. It was supposed to be called "Blaqk Audio" but as far as I can tell they never did anything with it. Too bad too; I would've loved to have heard it.

Yeah I feel the same way regarding decemberunderground. Not that it isn't good, but it took me awhile to get into, cause it didn't grab me as well as the last one. It wouldn't played a lot better if they had released this first, THEN sing the sorrow. The progression makes more sense if you listen to them in that order.

ah well, still new AFI, so I can't bitch.
