Back after awhile.

Well, I'm back after awhile of being off, and rather than bounce around to everyone's journals, I'll just respond to the general action I've seen around.

First off, what happened to the site, mucho grande change, not that I care, I don't really use the site for much of anything aside from conversing with the small group of people that I actually care to converse with.

Frostitute is a moderator, FTW?! I never thought someone I was friends with would become a mod. Makes it a bit tougher to complain about the mods, now if I do, I have to put an exception in.

With that being said, my TTT (time travel thread) brothers would probably all agree, and I know that at least a couple of them do, that the moderators are Nazi's (except Frostitute). They leave a bunch of crap open that tend to have a pretty exclusive crowd, as anytime someone new tries to jump in, everyone in the thread's crew attacks them (BAR's) and shut a topic that has somewhat similar circumstances (close group of individuals personally moderating it, yet except new members more easily and still discuss intelligent, or at the very least non-random interesting subject material). I've grown more apathetic, less interested in politics, and more conservative in recent times, but I do notice a parallel between the moderators (minus Frostitute) and the police system (at least in the US). Those in power, those close to those in power, those who appear well-off, basically anyone who isn't on the lower end of society, politically, financially, or in popularity are given higher rights than those who are on the lower end.

To Jam, you watched your first Bond movie ever and you're 21? What the hell man? Maybe it's my American ignorance, but you're British! I would've thought that Bond would've been a national treasure over there, mandatory in preschool or some shit.

Stop has been watching some good television. Fat Guy and Tim and Eric, while incredibly bizarre, are two great shows that adult swim has added to their lineup. Fat Guy's low production value gives it a very old school look, reminiscent of the 80's. Tim and Eric's genius comes the Kaufman-esque humor that is perfectly accented with the public access style of filming. The newest bit added to AS's lineup is Superjail, if not for the humor for the sheer psychedelic imagery.

Hit, I've told you the best song in the universe exists dozens of time, you just don't listen.

That's all for tonight, I'll try to make it on more often, but as always, no gaurantees.

Right on, brotha.

Besides, that one monk who lit himself on fire never moved a muscle.

...He didn't seem too bothered by it.

I hate the thought of drowning.

Just got out of the shower. I'm gonna try and set up a formal kind-of-thing.

My opinion: Better is not always objective
Your opinion: Better is ALWAYS objective

What happened was...

...you commented on my picture with "Meh". Obviously, you did not enjoy my Faulkner appraisal. You THEN went on to mention, in your journal ('cause you KNEW I would respond (probably, you sick bastard)), that Hemingway was greater than William.

You quickly thereafter regarded it as Hemingway being BETTER than William
I knew (as do you) that you chose to say that to rile me up.
Anytime someone suggests their opinion without suggest it's "...just my opinion" they are automatically a target. The opponent would either respond with "That's just YOUR opinion" or would argue against it. I chose the latter. I chose to suggest that the way you meant 'better' was in a DEFINITE FORM.

You suggested there IS no definite form.

I dug deeper and found the definitions for "better" (out of arrogance and to distinguish YOUR arrogance).
Most of these definitions follow a certain way of thinking so I will quote the one that best suits my argument (it should be noted that it is also the FIRST definition listed)
(comparative of `good') superior to another (of the same class or set or kind) in excellence or quality or desirability or suitability; more ...

Suitability as you and I know means appropiate to a purpose or occasion.

Thus better is not entirely definite. My example is as follows:
If someone were to suggest that inhaling carbon dioxide was better than inhaling air, this would not suit (APPROPIATELY) your body.
I know you'd bring up the argument that the purpose/occasion could be death, yet, and I'm HONESTLY arguing this...

...*sigh*...

...the inhaling of carbon dioxide when oxygen is readily available is unappropiate as it would be suicide and (even though I have no beliefs regarding this)...suicide IS wrong. In general. It's like the negative to my POSITIVE.

...that's my argument.

Better is not clearly objective.

There are DEFINATELY cases where better is not objective.

There are more objective ways to look at it but it's not always the case.

Also, "FLING SOME CUSS WORDS"! Oh, yeah, cry your eyes out at the expense of my vulgarity, will ya'?

------as for my response not making sense, I was in the middle of playing GTA IV with a friend so, as I was...ya' know...talking to...A FRIEND...and practically ignoring your ludicrous need to substain conversations that are as boring as hell (while you could be busy doing all the stuff you say KEEPS you so busy when you're NEVER busy at all) whilst having fun with someone I actually know and enjoy talking to.

Personal preferences do not make something better. For some things, there is no opinion of what is better...it just is.

A better wheel is a wheel that is perfectly circular.

Whilst I could enjoy a wheel made of bumpy rocks and that's my personal preference 'cause I like the stone-age.

(I won't respond to anything else, you shouldn't be arguing your dumb point anyone you fucking idiot)

Personal preferences and the better 'product' (efficiency, et cet) are two different things.

This isn't myspace as in you shouldn't be posting journals advertising your image gallery. -_-

And you didn't say you preferred Hemingway. You just said he was better. :/
